About Machrihanish Dunes

The Old Clubhouse Restaurant & Pub is, in fact, the original clubhouse for the Machrihanish Golf Club from back in the days of "Old Tom" himself. It was first converted into a pub in the late 1970's, operating under the name "The Beachcomber." The pub maintained this moniker for approximately 30 years before being purchased as part of the Village at Machrihanish Dunes. The pub recently underwent a series of extensive interior renovations and re-opened to the public on 10 July 2009.

The Old Clubhouse offers the best draughts, single malt scotches and cuisine in the area. It stands as a testament to the historical importance of Machrihanish and Old Tom Morris, as well as hint of the exciting future of Machrihanish Dunes and Campbeltown.

The atmosphere at The Old Clubhouse is one of a relaxed old-world style golf pub. The interior (although newly renovated) has been masterfully constructed to appear as though it was designed 100 of years earlier. The cozy, well-appointed space offers a sense of history and times past as you gaze out the windows overlooking the historic 1st tee at Machrihanish teetering on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Prompt, professional and friendly service staff make for an unforgettable experience.

A place to unwind after a round of golf, or spend the whole evening, The Old Clubhouse is enjoyed by all who come through its doors to experience the friendly, engaging atmosphere.
