2009 Accommodation
During the 2009 golf season, a number of accommodations will be available through the Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club. All arrangements including tee times and room reservations can be made through Machrihanish Dunes or the Kintyre Cottages.
Kintyre Cottages
The Kintyre Cottages, the official hotel and lodging accommodations of the Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club, are situated in the heart of Machrihanish and only moments away from Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre. Directly across from the first tee of the world renowned Machrihanish Golf Club and adjacent to the Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club, the Kintyre Cottages are a world-class accommodation for world-class golf.
The Kintyre Cottages offer guests a taste of new luxury: a fresh approach to hospitality scarcely found. The twelve spacious guest rooms and twelve decadent suites are luxuriously appointed with all the amenities one would find in New York, LA, Paris, or London. These world-class arrangements are paired with welcoming and genuine hospitality and lavished with breathtaking views of Machrihanish’s beautiful landscape and the Atlantic Ocean.
Killean Estate
Killean Estate is an exceptionally presented Scottish country estate, beautifully situated midway down the west coast of the Kintyre Peninsula. The estate has a range of luxury houses, homes and holiday cottages, all available to rent as self catering accommodation. These range from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 5 bedroom villa house. With a dramatic landscape encompassing beaches, woodland, lochs and gardens, there truly is a wealth of things to see and do.
Saddell House
Saddell House stands on the edge of the beach to take advantage of views across both the Kilbrannan Sound and the fertile plain inland. It is a typical Scottish laird’s house of its period, with generously proportioned rooms and large light windows. The estate consists of the following buildings: Saddell Castle (Sleeps 8), Saddell House(Sleeps 13), Saddell Lodge(Sleeps 4), Cul Na Shee (Sleeps 4), Ferryman's Cottage (Sleeps 5), Shore Cottage (Sleeps 6).

The excitement of Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club will be enhanced by several ongoing developments.
The plans for accommodation include the development of The Kintyre Hotel and Cottages (formerly The Ugadale Hotel) in Machrihanish. The Kintyre Hotel and Cottages, will overlook the famous first hole at Machrihanish Golf Club (widely regarded as “the most spectacular opening hole in golf”) and will feature 82 rooms as well as a malt whisky bar and local seafood restaurant. The Cottages are scheduled to open in January of 2009 and the Kintyre Hotel renovations will be complete in the fall of 2009.
A mere eight kilometers from Machrihanish, will be the newly refurbished Royal Hotel in Campbeltown. Scheduled to open in early 2010, The Royal Hotel will offer modern amenities in an elegant, old-world setting featuring graciously appointed guest rooms and the renowned Kintyre Grill, a steak and oyster bar.
The final development, The Residences at Machrihanish Bay, will be available as 32 two-bedroom cottages and houses overlooking the golf course and the Atlantic Ocean. Designed to blend with the natural landscape, each residence will be finished in highest quality stone and slate with the traditional look of the cottages of the West of Scotland. Designs will include private courtyards and the option of an indoor swimming pool.
